It’s been a year since lockdown began and we are still going strong

As we reflect on the last 12 months, we would never had imagined the year that it has been.

The initial panic of how do we fulfil our commitments to staff and clients and stay safe was followed by planning meetings and within days we were up and running safely with a reduced rotation of staff. Thanks to our multi skilled workforce we quickly adapted to the new normal and we continued to look after our clients and staff.

The orders in the first few months were very much Covid related. Social-distancing posters and floor graphics covered the print production areas. The mailing department was kept busy with communications for councils, health authorities and clients all with communications about Covid. Hybrid mail became one of our busiest departments with clients using us as their post rooms with many working from home.

The summer months brought sunshine and a return to more of our usual work with shops and restaurants opening and there was hope that the entertainment and travel sectors would follow, unfortunately that was not to be and we had to once again adapt to more lockdown restrictions.

During our quieter times, we have kept busy moving forward with our planned investments. We were keen to continue with the installation of our new Indigo press, which now offers our clients more print options and has made a welcome addition to our portfolio. We also continued with our rebrand, including the change of our company name and the build of our new website which has been live since January.

We have been proud to play our part during this pandemic, printing and mailing to hundreds of thousands of homes, for the local councils and health authorities, helping to get their stay-at-home messages across.

Twelve months on from the initial lockdown, we would like to pay our respects to those that lost their lives, and the families that have been so deeply affected by this virus. As a nation and the world, we have all come together to fight this virus and will continue to play our part.

To all the doctors, nurses, NHS staff, supermarket workers, volunteers, vaccinators and anyone making a difference during this pandemic, we thank you for your hard work.

Stay safe and stay positive, we will get through this.
