We wouldn’t be what we are without teamwork
As England prepare for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Gareth and his team will be feeling the weight of the nation’s expectations.
Gareth has lead England with poise and determination, and going into the World Cup on the back of a successful European Championship run last year, only narrowly missing out on the final win.
I think we can all agree that Gareth Southgate is a phenomenal manager and a man we can take some pointers from.
Taking our inspiration from football, here is how Platinum work as a team to support each other through our roles.
Manager/Coach – Board of Directors
Without decent leadership, we wouldn’t be where we are today. We need people to steer the ship on the right course and provide us with the training and coaching to score the goals and get the best out of each and every one of us.
We constantly invest in our people and equipment to get the best out of both. We want to be able to offer our customers the best of the best and this is why we invest in the best of the best.
Players – Sales Team
You then have the players, or the sales team as we would say at Platinum. These guys are the stars of the show. They are the people facing players, creating a following of customers where ever they go. They draw the crowds in and fill the seats (get the orders) and love to please their fans.
Physios, Doctors and well-being staff – Estimating, Design, Pre-press, Production & Finishing
These guys are the heart of the operation. Yes, we have the players, but without these guys there would be no one to put the orders through and create the finished product. Sometimes the sales team might be struggling with information or pricing and, like true heroes, the estimators run onto the pitch and help them through difficult quotes.
Design and Pre-press are integral to the well being of the organisation. Without their skills, artwork wouldn’t be created and sent to print. They really are an integral cog in the Platinum wheel.
Production and finishing work hard to get the orders complete at the highest standard, on time and on budget. Without their knowledge and skills, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.
WAGS – HR, Marketing and Credit Control
Bear with us on this one. What is a player without their WAG? Well, we like to think that HR, Marketing and Credit Control are the WAGS of Platinum. They bring the glitz, glamour and sometimes drama.
Marketing brings the glitz and glamour with their shiny campaigns, emails, blogs and offers and HR and credit control bring the drama, chasing down payments, making sure the players stay in line and most importantly, paying the salaries.
Mascot – Suzie
All teams need a mascot that can get the crowd going and we are no exception. You will always get a warm welcome from our mascot Suzie; you may even get a lick if you are lucky. Just don’t leave your wallet or sandwiches unattended around her as you might find them gone.
Fans – Customers
None of this would be possible though without the support of our loyal fans, our customers. We appreciate how they turn up for every game and continue to support us through the good times and the bad (Covid). We wouldn’t be who we are without you.
Yes, this is a silly analogy of how Platinum can be like a football team, but the main focus is the importance in teamwork. Without one cog, the others won’t turn. We work as one big team at Platinum to create a great working environment and help each other to achieve greatness. We don’t rely on one department to do it all, it takes the whole team. We also wouldn’t be what we are without our customers.
On a small side note, Gareth lives in Harrogate and we are based in Harrogate, he loves Betty’s fat rascals and we do too.
